Hanley at Home Fund

About the Hanley at Home Fund
The Hanley at Home Fund awards grants to organisations that help people manage and maintain their own home. There are many ways that this can be achieved, so we do not want to be too prescriptive. We are happy to consider your project for funding if you believe it will help to achieve this aim. The fund supports organisations working across a range of areas that help people live independently, remain in their homes, and develop the skills needed to manage their finances and housing successfully.
Some examples of projects could include:
- Teaching children and young people about finance and household financial management, such as how bank accounts, credit cards and interest work.
- Helping people to learn independent living skills so that they are able to live independently.
- Supporting organisations that help older people following hospital discharge so they can return to their homes safely.
- Supporting people to remain in their homes when faced with a medical condition.
- Helping and supporting people into housing where they might not ordinarily consider it a viable option.
This list is not exhaustive, and we are happy to receive proposals which address the overall aims of the fund.
Organisations should be based in or working in:
- Stoke-on-Trent
- Newcastle-under-Lyme
- Staffordshire Moorlands
- Stafford

Recent Impact
The Hanley at Home Fund continues to have a significant impact within our communities. Working in partnership with Community Foundation for Staffordshire and Shropshire, the fund awarded £25,588 to six local organisations during the most recent funding round.
This year's beneficiaries were Number 11, Katharine House, Mothers Mind Staffordshire, Middleport Matters Community Trust, Read Easy North Staffordshire and Reaching CIC. Funding supported projects focused on housing stability, independent living and wellbeing, including support for new families experiencing financial pressures, hospice at-home care, adult literacy programmes, hoarding advice and services that promote financial wellbeing, mental health and essential life skills.
These projects reflect the core aims of the Hanley at Home Fund by helping individuals and families build confidence, independence and resilience within their own homes.
Applications for the next funding round are expected to reopen in 2027, and we encourage organisations supporting housing stability, independent living and community wellbeing to apply.
